Description: Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) occur in nature as L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine and L-Valine. They are essential to the human body because they are found in cells to promote protein synthesis. All three of these BCAA’s are used together to potentially promote muscle growth, tissue repair and be used as an energy source. BCAA’s comprise up to 35% of muscle tissue and intense training of long durations can deplete BCAA levels. Depleted BCAA levels may result in a decrease in muscle strength and tone. Studies have shown that the presence of branched chain amino acids after training is “critical for recovery”. |
